Privacy policy
Cryptnook Vault does not collect personal data: no accounts, no analytics, no internet connection. This page explains what happens with the app, purchases, this website and email.
Updated on 9 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller for the Cryptnook Vault app and the cryptnook.com website is Jaime Hernansanz Quevedo, in Spain.
For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, write to cryptnookvault@gmail.com.
What you keep never leaves your device
Cryptnook Vault, on Android and on Windows, does not collect, send or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no automatic crash reports and no licence check against a server: there is no server. The Android app does not even declare the internet permission.
Your files and your password stay encrypted on your drive or in your phone’s storage. Nobody else, including us, can read or recover them.
The permissions it asks for, such as the camera to take photos that go straight into the vault or access to the USB drive, are only used on the device.
The only thing decrypted to disk, and when it is wiped
On Android, some video formats cannot be played straight from the vault. While you watch them, the app decrypts them into its internal cache, a private folder other apps cannot reach. That cache is wiped when the vault is locked and every time the app starts.
On Windows, nothing decrypted is ever written to disk.
Each store handles its own purchases
Cryptnook Vault is bought on Google Play or Microsoft Store. Payment, your store account and refunds are handled by the store, under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details.
The stores give us sales reports, such as the country of each purchase, which we use only for accounting and taxes, and install and crash statistics that do not identify you.
No cookies, no analytics, no third parties
cryptnook.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and loads nothing from other sites. If you choose a language, it is remembered in your own browser and sent nowhere.
The website is hosted by Hostinger. Like any server, it keeps the IP address, date and requested page in its access logs, for security and to run the service, for a limited time.
Your email, only to answer you
If you write to cryptnookvault@gmail.com, we use your address and what you tell us only to deal with your request, because you asked us to. We do not pass it on to anyone. Our email runs on Gmail, by Google.
We keep it for as long as needed to resolve your request and, after that, only what the law requires.
What you can ask for
You can ask for access to your data, its correction or erasure, to restrict or object to its processing, and for its portability, by writing to cryptnookvault@gmail.com. Since the app collects nothing, the only data we can have about you is what you have written to us.
If you think we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or to the authority in your country.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
